Context

Context:

The logistic branch of the Beaumanoir Group, C-log is a supply chain company specialized in B2B, B2C transport and logistics. The group has developed extensive expertise in support of fashion, lifestyle and luxury brands in their omnichannel supply chain, providing a wide range of high value-added services. With its 9 logistic sites of more than 26 000 square meters and 100 full-time employees, C-log handles more than 100 million articles every year for more than 30 clients. In order to answer to the booming global e-commerce needs and omnichannel development of its clients, C-log has conducted a series of strategic transfor- mations, at heart of which lies the flagship project, a new state-of-the-art logistic warehouse in Poupry, situated in the centre of France. One key specificity of the Poupry warehouse is that this warehouse was designed entirely to handle e-commerce orders. With advanced robotics and leading-edge IT capabilities, the Poupry warehouse was designed to maximize order execution capacity for all ecommerce orders while reducing human involvement and heavy duty in order preparation. A critical strategy is to reconfigure C-log’s logistic flows globally and re-direct all the e-commerce order handling towards the Poupry site. In order to succeed in the flow migration and achieve seamless operations, a smart system capable of re-balancing inventories and orchestrating orders has become quintessential.

Challenge

Challenge:

- A logistic model transition in large scale
CLog is transitioning from a mono-brand logistic sites to a multi-brand site in order to serve the uprising need of ecommerce clients. Although this shift improves efficiency in order fulfillments, it also requires capacities to split and regroup orders from multiple shipping locations and inventory rebalacing between locations. The sheer scale of this operation requires a robust system capable of handling large volume very fast.

- Adapt to different fulfillment strategies of each brand
As the Poupry facility handles a wide range of brands and businesses, it will have to handle flows based on very different business constraints and rules. This requires Clog to have high flexibility and adaptability in their logsitic processes.

- Fast integration of new clients
When a new retailer is using C-Log’ services, the OMS have to handle new scenarios fast and start orchestrating orders even under not very strict conditions. The capability to integrate new business models and IT systems has become another challenge.
